A February Post – Knowing Our Limits

A patient Buddha

Buddha, waiting.

What is UP with me not posting here for a while? I suppose it’s just a case of life distracting me. Pesky life. Anyway kids, here’s the latest scoop at in my life and at The Sanity Search.

I recently published Issue 2 of The Sanity Update, so that’s cool. I am really enjoying doing this. Sure, there is sometimes a scramble to find just the right thing to fit my five page format, but I am OK with that. One thing I really enjoy is giving “Shoutouts” or profiling different people and/or organizations that I think are special.

I suppose there’s a bit of risk doing this, I’m hoping I won’t slight anyone by not mentioning them or their good works, but it’s like anything else, I can only do so much. Right? That’s something to hold onto, many times we ALL can do more, but there’s a limit. And we need to cut ourselves the proverbial slack, it’s about     Knowing Our Limits.

Finding Focus for the New Year – Part 2

I don’t doubt for a minute that you’ve all been waiting breathlessly to see what is my Word for 2016. And here you Strength 2go: STRENGTH.

Yup – Strength. Being strong. Resilient. Keep trying. “Nanakorobi yaoki” (not quite literal translation – “To fall Seven is to rise Eight.”)

You see the necklace to the right, there’s an interesting story behind that. The little disk with the Japanese kanji is the symbol for “strength.” That disk was originally attached to a thin leather cord and it came out of a 25 cent gumball machine. It was my son Tom’s (but hey, I gave him the quarter, so…).

What’s The Word? Finding Focus for the New Year – Part One

Sugar Candy

Sugar Candy

Hello Good People!

It’s a brand new year, good ole 2015 has retired, and fresh-faced 2016 has stepped up to take her place. (Yes, I feminized a year. To me, odd numbered years are female, and even numbered are male. Don’t know why – it’s just what I do.)

Anyway. Here I am hanging out with my pal 2016. I just typed up my   new business agenda, and added a sweet picture. (See below). Doing this was my attempt at finding my focus for a good new start, but it pained me to do this.

Hidden Star

The thing is, I’m not against Resolutions and Making Changes, but there’s a bit of a trend among some groups I belong to online, and that’s sharing our “Word for the New Year.”  Great idea, this, but it often leaves me feeling uneasy, and depressed. Which is totally on me, I’m not blaming my business building and entrepreneurial pals at all. I’ve got my own damn baggage. LOL. (more…)

TECHNOLOGY!!!

Hi TechJust a little vent here about the impossible but necessary dance we must have with technological advancements.

It’s one step forward, and three back, and usually, at least with me, an unintended stumble. You know that expression, “Dance like no one is watching?”  I think I need to have someone watching me at all times to insure that I don’t f*ck up this and my other sites any more than…well, any more period! Trying to Rise Above the Chaos

Greens and GlasssSo, lately I’ve been letting life dictate my progress. It is a pretty natural thing for us to get swallowed up by life’s BS, so I’m trying to cut myself some slack. But since this is a site designed to help folks Keep Calm and…[Fill in the Pithy Blank] – I would like to set a good example.

But the thing is – sometimes you just have to ride the Bullshit Rodeo for a while. And that’s OK. How to maintain Sanity is what we are all here to learn together.
